Get to know Spencer & Christine

Spencer is a first-generation immigrant from Hong Kong, China. He met his wife Christine, a Chinese Malaysian, in college. Both Spencer and Christine came to know Jesus in their teenage years in their own countries. When they came to America, they gained a heart for spreading the gospel to the nations through being a part of an international student bible study on campus. Since then, the Lord has brought many friends from all over the world into their home. The Chows have had the privilege to disciple many international students and immigrants over the past 25 years. Their desire is to see all God’s people from every tribe and tongue and nation worship together in unity.

They have 1 son, Lucas but have mentored many young people, and thus it feels like their family is bigger than it really is.

In addition to being an elder, Spencer also leads in the New City Worship Team. Christine is leading the New City Kids team to disciple families and kids at NCNC.
Spencer currently works as a Senior Software Engineer, specializing in Database Administration. Christine is studying to be a biblical counselor at Westminster Seminary.
They love the vision of NCNC to advance Christ’s reign to all peoples through a redeemed community of all peoples. They also love the diverse and yet intimate family-like nature of NCNC. People from different ethnicities with many talents are self-motivated to build up the body of Christ at NCNC. The working out of our unity in Christ brings God much glory – which is such a beautiful expression of what the church is meant to be. Their hope for the future is that the Lord will bring more nations to NCNC so that we can continue to live out the vision of Revelations 5:9.
